It's not as thick as my Minus33 gear but the hood and thumb holes are nice. I tried it out today in -13F and -35F wind chill with just a pair of pants over them and my legs felt cold. When I did this in my Minus 33's they felt considerably less cold. I had on a Cabelas Arctic down parka so I think if I just used one more layer between these and my pants I would have been fine. I'd say if you were going out and it was 0 and above you'd be fine with just these and pants and good jacket. They are more than long enough in the legs and arms (I'm 6') and very stretchy. I'm keeping them.I am amazed that more people who work outside do not use these suits. True, they are expensive, but this suit kept me going om a 3 degree day with winds of 12 mph. I was not toasty, but I was the happiest I have ever been under these conditions. The hood is a real plus. When I was able to work up a sweat, the material wicked it away as promised They wash well and will hang dry overnight in a heated house. So, one will do you in a pinch. The fabric is soft against the skin. The wraparound zipper does let you attend to a nature call in a pinch but - there;s no way to put this delicately - not with a wide squat. So, probably not the long underwear for someone with IBS.I have the regular ninja suit and the heavy weight ninja suits in size large, and this one is a little looser fitting than both of those. This one also SMELLS better after two days of riding in it than those. Not as warm as the heavy weight Ninja Suit, but more adaptable to all climates, and way more breathable. As far as the regular Ninja Suit i would say they are about on par as far as warmth. The biggest reason to buy the merino wool NS is to travel light for multiple days. Hang this bad boy up after a day of riding overnight and the next day your good to go - no funky smells. Of course you may still small yesterdays deodorant, but that's better than crotch funk I'm sure anyone reading this will agree.A little more snug than I expected, but I am a larger than average person at 6'4" 300+ lbs. I lost some weight and they fit perfect. Great as an layer in the cold especially when sleeping in my camping hammock on a cold night.Bought for my husband (snowboarder), he loves it and fit as expected! He already had the cotton ninja suit, loves the upgraded merino material.Very warm and comfortable. Fits great. Perfect for hunting trips5' 7" 135-140 lbs 30 waist small fit perfectPerfect
